With deep experience in managing crises, Morocco provides an excellent experience to  examine community-based assistance, protection, and well-being programs. Refugees and asylum seekers from more than 45 countries are registered with the UNHCR, giving you the opportunity to interact with people from various contexts. 

Witness humanitarian workers in action

 Gain first-hand perspectives of humanitarian assistance in action as you interact with NGOs, INGOs, aid workers, governments, and refugee and asylum seekers. Learn how these actors work together to provide protection and assistance to those seeking refuge from political upheaval, natural disasters, forced displacement, public health emergencies, and more. 

Studying in Morocco will provide you the opportunity to analyze refugee movements and policies among neighboring countries. Examine Morocco’s relationship with European countries and their methods of managing refugees across borders.  

 Examine international relationships 

During your semester in Morocco, develop essential skills for humanitarian workers, including monitoring, evaluation, and learning, developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships, and analyzing safety, security, and well-being. Examine the landscape of international humanitarian and refugee law, standards, and principles through case studies of humanitarian crises. 

Hands-on, on-the-ground experience will prepare you to take on roles such as crisis and emergency manager, human rights advocacy officer, humanitarian aid coordinator, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning officer.
